Sima Kavand, MD
Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology
Dr. Sima Kavand earned her medical degree at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. Before relocating to the United States, she completed a four-year dermatology residency and was a board certified dermatologist who practiced for 5 years.
In the US, she first worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Minnesota. Her research findings have been published in several reputable dermatology journals. She then completed her internal medicine residency at the Saint Francis Hospital affiliated with the University of Illinois.
Dr. Kavand leverages her extensive dermatology experience to concentrate on skin diseases within her primary care practice. She is interested in preventive medicine, especially screening for skin cancers and caring for patients with skin conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, warts and any acute skin conditions concerns. She consistently enhances her knowledge through conference participation, workshops, and collaborating with colleagues.
